Notes - In 1897, three years after his older sisters headed west, Adam decided to go west also. He traveled in a prairie schooner. He took his family, his brother Henry, and his brother-in-law John Biever. The schooner was full of Adam's belongings and supplies, so John and Henry walked alongside, while herding a milk cow along with them. He worked on the Milwaukee Road railroad in Bridgewater. In 1907 he moved to Provost, Alberta, Canada and became a farmer.
